With heavy hearts, the Queer Campout organizing team announces that the May and July campouts are postponed.

We received information this afternoon that due to the extreme risk of fires, all state forest land in New Mexico is closed to recreational camping until December 2022, or until the restrictions are revoked. We have looked at alternatives to relocate Queer Campout to another site, and met to discuss our best plan of action moving forward. In our commitment to being responsible stewards of the land, we’ve decided that our most ethical and safe option is to find alternatives to camping at this time, and we look forward to rescheduling Queer Campout when it becomes feasible.
